After nearly 20 years, the Friendship Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri is poised to make real their vision for a state-of-the-art space dedicated to Christian education for children and youth. The new one story, 7,750-square foot Emanuel Lisk Center for Youth Development was designed to blend seamlessly with the existing building’s block veneer and steel roof shingles.

Bible Christian Church, located in Garden City, Kansas, recently completed construction on their new facility with the team of Mantel Teter and Hutton. The church was desperately in need of additional lobby and community environments, as well as a dedicated worship space. In addition to the new 500 seat sanctuary, the project included renovation and expansion of their NextGen ministry space to maintain balance with the new worship space seating capacity.
Our firm recently got together for a team outing at Main Event! We had a fun time bowling, catching up, and finding out who among us has a competitive side!
Events like this provide our remote team with an opportunity to spend time in-person, creating an environment that fosters discussion and collaboration.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, located in Liberty, Missouri, has completed construction on their latest renovation project. Updates to the student ministry area and outdoor gathering spaces has increased the church's ability to cater to its youth ministry and host various supportive events throughout the week. Collaborating closely with Pearce Construction we were able to bring their vision to life.

First Baptist Church , located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, recently completed construction of a major renovation and transformation to their 1,100-seat Sanctuary and lobby/gathering spaces. First Baptist Church has been a repeat client since the 1970’s including six different facility improvement projects. What an honor to continue serving this church and ministry!

Northland Baptist Church, located in Kansas City, Missouri, recently completed construction of their new lobby and gathering space addition. Olathe, Kansas based contractor Harmon Construction served this project as the general contractor.
Our firm recently hosted a team building event at Sporting Kansas City for our employees and spouses. Despite the cold weather, we had a fun time! Events like this provide our remote team with an opportunity to get together in-person bringing us closer together and fostering collaboration both on and off the field.
Abundant Life is in the process of constructing a new children’s worship building and courtyard with a platform for outdoor worship services, which will merge their existing sanctuary and children’s addition into a single campus. Located in the historic Crossroads Arts District of Kansas City, Missouri, Abundant Life has pushed to keep the character of the century-old firehouse giving the Mantel Teter team and their partners at Pearce Construction a unique challenge. We look forward to campus construction being completed by Fall of 2024!
Each year, the team at Mantel Teter volunteers with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City. Working together to make an impact in our local community is so important and reinforces one of our company’s core values, which is giving back through serving. Last fall, we worked on two homes providing support with painting and installing blinds. Looking forward to helping out again this year!

Grace Church - located in Olathe, Kansas completes construction. Having served this church at their main campus, they returned to their design and construction team, Kansas City, Missouri based architect Mantel Teter and Whiting-Turner Contracting, to design and build a first phase facility. We’re honored to serve Grace Church once again, helping them expand their reach in this community.
We recently had the opportunity to give back to the community with a sponsorship at the Women Build Gala supporting Habitat for Humanity in Lawrence, Kansas.
Habitat for Humanity is an organization we choose to support because we stand behind their mission and values. Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Their vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Lord of Hosts Church, located in Omaha, Nebraska, is making progress on their new 1500-seat Sanctuary, gathering areas, and support spaces. This project has been transformational as new life is reborn into an old retail building. Local Omaha, Nebraska contractor, Lund-Ross Constructors, is serving as the selected general contractor.
Bible Christian Church, located in Garden City, Kansas, is one step closer to completing construction with the team of Mantel Teter and Hutton. The church needed additional space for lobby and gathering, worship space for 500 seats and NextGen ministry spaces to balance with the new worship space seating capacity. Last month we had some great progress on the the metal stud framing and PEMB erection!
City Church - located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is nearing construction completion. The project is enclosed and interior finish work has begun. All site utilities are installed while other site work progresses for the parking lot and drives. This is the first project for City Church and will be their permanent home. The church has a heart and mission to stay nearby and serve the urban core of Murfreesboro, TN. This area of middle Tennessee is the fastest growing in the state. “It’s been such a privilege for our team to partner with this church, alongside Dow Smith Company; helping this church be one step closer to having a permanent place to do the ministry that God has called them to do”, shared David Evans, the Project Architect.
God has called Reach Church, located in Des Moines, IA, to be a multi-generational church, which includes reaching the next generation. To accomplish their big vision and lay the foundation for decades to come, they are renovating and expanding their existing facility to reach “THE ONE.” The focus of their building renovation includes cosmetic improvements to the building exterior, first impressions lobby, administrative areas, worship space, children’s and youth worship spaces, and classrooms.
Renovations are now underway. Ames, Iowa based general contractor Story Construction and Kansas City, Missouri based architect Mantel Teter are overseeing construction of this building expansion and renovation project.

Abundant Life is a multi-site church that includes a campus in the Crossroads District in Kansas City, Missouri.
Kansas City’s Crossroads District is an eclectic enclave of boutique shops, one-of-a-kind restaurants, creative businesses, studios, art galleries and residential development. Abundant Life continued this mixed-use redevelopment trend with the construction of their new church facility where they will serve the heart of the city through compassionate ministry.
This renovation project included a dramatic transformation of the 24,00 square foot, 2-story historic Dorfman Plumbing Supply Company retail building located at the corner of 19th and Cherry Streets. Key project features include a 600-seat worship space, fellowship and connection space, café/loft space, event space, classrooms, and a rooftop patio overlooking the downtown city skyline.
Two pairs of large custom barn doors connect the worship space to the adjacent fellowship/connection space which facilitates ingress and egress as well as allowing the fellowship/connection space to serve as an overflow seating area.
Two large hydraulically operated bi-fold garage doors connect the fellowship/connection space to an outdoor courtyard area where outdoor worship and other ministry activities can flourish.
The exterior character of this historic Crossroads District building was maintained by retaining the existing masonry exterior facades while incorporating contemporary architectural cladding and several large window openings. The building interior features exposed existing masonry exterior walls, exposed wood structure, exposed steel columns and beams along with salvaged lumber paneling, freight elevator components, and a cast-in-concrete utility service manhole cover.
